the reason they failed is that you needed to add a language. in the future i'd suggest using the beta uploader (does not work with Internet Explorer) where you can select a language prior to creating the item. i added it and kicked off the derives.

FYI this error is showing at the bottom of the page when I edit one of those items.

Unknown err: Unknown: write failed: No space left on device (28) [Unknown:0] Unknown err: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/lib/php5) [Unknown:0]

New added books aren't deriving. I have about 1,000 books to add.

What's the best way to go about doing that?

Just keep adding them and ignore that they are failing then post here when they're all added?

Or check in here periodically?

Is there anything I can do on my end, besides making sure the language field is set?

the derive fail has nothing to do with your items. i've restarted the derives. do please continue to upload.
